The State of Victoria’s Department of Education and Training leads the delivery of education and development services to children, young people and adults. It does this directly through government schools and indirectly through the regulation and funding of early childhood services, non-government schools and training programs.
The State of Victoria’s Department of Education and Training implements Victorian government policy on early childhood services, school education and training and higher education services. It also manages Victorian government schools and drives improvement in primary and secondary government education.
The goals it sets, the changes it implements, the systems it supports, and the services it offers are all focused on improving outcomes and opportunities for Victorians and supporting them to build happy, healthy and rewarding lives.
The State of Victoria’s Department of Education and Training looks to be as efficient as possible and wanted to bring casual teachers’ pay onto the same payroll platform as permanent teachers. Before this project, casual teachers’ payroll information sat with the state schools. Automating this into the government’s central payroll system meant that human error would be removed. It would also see an increase in process efficiency. This was a project that needed to be completed within a tight timeframe and to budget.
Using BizTalk, we designed an automated integration solution that integrated with school information systems and government payroll platforms. We then built, tested and deployed the solution.
The payroll information from state schools was automated to the government’s central payroll system, within the tight timeframe required, and within budget.
